The Gunfighter Zone Forums is happy to trade links with sites of interest to our visitors. There are two ways you can trade links with us:
You can place a link to the Gunfighter Zone Forums on your site.
You can display recent discussion posts on your site using a special piece of code that you copy onto your site so your visitors can see what's being discussed in the Zone. You can choose to display messages from all forums, or only from ones that match your site's focus. This helps target the content to your visitors, not matter if it's Cowboy Shooting, Reenacting, Fast Draw, Western Movies or Books. You can also choose the format of the display to fit your site's layout, and use the customizing interface to specify your exact options.
What do I and my web site get out of becoming a Forum Pardner?
Your exposure in the Gunfighter Zone forums depends on the type of link you provide:
If you place a link to the Gunfighter Zone Forums on your site you will be listed on the Forum Pardner page, which is accessed from a link at the bottom of ALL forum pages.
If you add a small piece of code to your site that will display recent postings from all or selected areas of the Gunfighter Zone forums, then you will become a Major Forum Pardner. As a Major Forum Pardner your mini banner will be displayed at the bottom of ALL Gunfighter Zone forums in rotation with our other Major Pardners, and you'll be listed on our Forum Pardner page. This gives you great exposure throughout the forums. You can choose to implement any of the example displays listed below, or utilize the Topics Anywhere page to custom design the layout of the forum display. This also allows you to specify the exact forum posts you wish to display on your site (Cowboy Shooting, Reenacting, Fast Draw, Western Movies or Books). The forum display should appear on one of the main pages of your site, not hidden away somewhere. After all, if we're going to feature you prominently on all our forum pages, we'd appreciate good exposure in return.
Note: Since the mini banner display is premium advertising (about 1/4 million displays per month as of March 2006), it is generally reserved for sites with decent traffic, and the Gunfighter Zone administrator reserves the right to limit the sites advertising in rotation. However, if you have a western shooting or entertaining site, please feel free to apply if you'd like to use the service. At the very least we can trade links.
What would the forum display look like?
Here are some examples of what the forum post display can look like. You can click on the link after each display to get the code you can add to your web page, or you can visit this page to customize the display to create your own custom display that you can add to your site. Remember that you can use your own font and color commands within your site to control how the display looks.
Display the last five posts from all forums (short format, two lines):
You can see this display in use in the Recent Discussion Forum Posts section of the Gunfighter Zone main links page.
Visit the Topics Anywhere page to format your own display to choose the forum and display layout to exactly fit your requirements.
How do I sign up to become a Forum Pardner
Send us an e-mail at ForumAdmin@gunfighter.com to let us know that you'd like to become a forum pardner. Before you do that, please be aware that we've worked hard to make our links list a useful resource for people who visit our site. To help keep it that way we will only accept sites that we feel are of interest to our visitors. Generally that includes western shooting or entertainment sites, and general western living sites, but please check out our links page to see the sort of sites we linked to in the past. Having said that, we'd like to hear from you if you have a site that you think applies.
If you'd like to become a Major Pardner to display forum posts on your site and get your mini banner displayed on the forum pages, you can visit the section above to get the specific code you want, or visit the Topics Anywhere page to customize your own display.
Mini Banner Specs:
If you will be displaying the forum posts on your site you can have a mini banner displayed at the bottom of all forum pages in rotation with our other major pardners. You can e-mail it to ForumAdmin@gunfighter.com. The banner should NOT be animated, and must be 100 pixels wide by 40 pixels high. Here's an example:
100 x 40 pixels
If you don't know how to create a mini banner please e-mail me and I can create one as time permits.
