EquestrianCourse Controller
with Beam and Optional Wireless Displays
Now you can have a 100% Portable Equestrian/Course Clock that runs on two standard 9 Volt DC batteries and costs many dollars less than timers found at events. This economical system allows you to start with the Controller and Beam and add Displays as needed in the future. The Controller gives you a number of different options not available on our Standard and Pro Barrel Racing Systems.
The Controller not only displays the times, but also allows you to reset/continue the timing if someone accidentally breaks the beams before or during a timed run. Also, the Controller is set with a default 3 second delay after the timed run starts to allow the horse and rider to clear the beam before it "watches" for them to exit the run, but you can use the Controller to program this delay for any time between 0-50 seconds depending on your needs. This come in handy if you have a stage where the rider will pass through the beam area before the run is completed. You can set the timer to ignore the first pass if the riders will generally do this within a specific time frame.

Barrel Racing/Equestrian Controller shown with Beam (Transmitter and Receiver)
The Beam consists of two parts, the Receiver and Wireless Transmitter.
The Transmitter sends a narrow invisible Infra Red Beam to the Receiver on a continuous bases. Any interruption of the Beam between the Transmitter and Receiver sends a code to the Controller that can be used to start or stop the program. The cable from the Beam Receiver is plugged into the RJ9 Connector on the side of the Controller with the 50 Foot (15-Meter) cable included. The remote beam transmitter is a wireless connection between the transmitter and receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver have standard tripod screw mounts for attachment to photo style tripods and both use individual 9 VDC alkaline batteries. The Receiver shares the power of the Controller.
Alignment between the Beam Transmitter and Receiver is accomplished by first turning on the Transmitter and positioning it in a location from 6 to 150 Feet (2 to 45 Meters) from the Receiver. Plug the cable from the Beam Receiver into the RJ9 Connector located on the side of the Controller and push and release the Start/Reset Key to set the Controller to start. Point the Receiver at the Transmitter, when alignment is correct a red LED on the back of the Receiver will turn on solid indicating alignment and the word "ON" will appear on the Controller Screen.
Passing through the Beam will start and stop the Controller and record your time.
No further setup is required.
